HIBS Ladies look certain to be in next season's Uefa Women's Champions League after it was confirmed yesterday that Scotland will have two teams in the competition in 2016-17.

The places will be based on the 2015 SWPL table, which means that Hibs realistically need just one point from their last four games to be certain of Champions League football for the first time. Even if they didn't get it, third place Aberdeen would still have to win all four remaining games.

"We've known for a while that Scotland getting two places was a high possibility," Hibs head coach Chris Roberts said.

"Nothing is inevitable and Aberdeen are capable of going on a winning run so we're not taking anything for granted."

A win or draw in their home game against Celtic tomorrow (sun) would see Hibs cross the line.

The Edinburgh club are still in with a chance of winning the SWPL title, but although they are only three points behind Glasgow City, the defending champions have a vastly superior goal difference.

Hibs played three times in the Champions League's predecessor, the Uefa Women's Cup, without getting past the first qualifying round.
