Kilmarnock have eased their goalkeeping worries with the emergency loan-signing of St Mirren's Mark Ridgers.

It was earlier believed that the Championship club had rebuffed Killie's approach for the 25-year-old, who has found himself out of the Buddies' starting line-up behind Jamie Langfield in recent weeks.

A deal has now been agreed though to let Ridgers join up at Rugby Park until January, with the proviso that Ian Murray's side can recall the keeper should an injury befall veteran shot-stopper Langfield.

Ridgers is expected to go straight into the side for tomorrow night's League Cup clash against his former side Hearts, with regular number one Jamie MacDonald awaiting results of a scan on his ankle after twisting it on the Rugby Park surface on Saturday.
