David Goodwillie insists that Aberdeen aren't feeling the pressure of being the early front-runners in the Premiership title race, and insists that they have the character to handle being top of the table.
Derek McInnes's side have won all eight of their league fixtures so far this season, with Dons striker Goodwillie netting his first goals of the campaign in the 3-1 win over Hearts at the weekend.
The match was seen as a potential banana skin for the Pittodrie outfit, but Goodwillie believes the way they handled that test shows that they are the real deal.
"We don't feel the pressure, I think we relish that," he said.
"A lot of the boys are confident lads and they are all enjoying every game as it comes.
"We are just going to keep working hard and do our best to keep this going.
"I've missed a couple of games lately and I was buzzing to get on the scoresheet and do my bit for the team."
Aberdeen take a break from league duty tomorrow night as they visit Easter Road to take on Championship side Hibernian in the League Cup third round.
Hibs manager Alan Stubbs is looking forward to seeing his men test themselves against the Premiership leaders.
"It's great for us and I'm really looking forward to it," he said.
"I was a bit wary of the Aberdeen tie taking the focus at the weekend, but I can't wait for it now.
"It's a chance for us to rub shoulders with the side that is -at this moment in time - the top team. I'm sure it will be an entertaining game.
"I have a lot of time for Derek (McInnes). He's a good guy and he's got a great team."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
