Rangers midfielder Jason Holt believes there are several comparisons between this season's Ladbrokes Championship leaders and last year's title winners.
But Holt is surely enjoying himself more this campaign having already started more league games for Mark Warburton's side than he did with Hearts last term.
Holt has already matched the two goals he netted for last season's runaway Championship winners, although he hit five more on loan at Sheffield United in the second half of the season.
The 22-year-old has started all six league games ahead of Rangers' trip to Dumbarton on Saturday and he is thriving in his key role in Warburton's team, having been a peripheral figure in his final season at Tynecastle.
Speaking of his new manager, Holt said: "It's just really positive, he lets you express yourself. It would be the same for every player.
"Playing in this team is really enjoyable - loads of touches of the ball, the passing, the chance to go forward and maybe grab a few goals. All the boys have thoroughly enjoyed it so far."
Rangers have won all 10 competitive games so far, scoring 38 goals in the process, and such are their early standards that a 3-0 home win over Livingston last weekend was followed by a dressing room inquest into their below-par performance.
And Holt has recognised a number of similarities between his current team and last season's runway leaders.
Holt said: "There are comparisons. The main thing is the togetherness in the dressing room. It's a real tight unit, as it was last season at Hearts, and the boys get on well. There is a great atmosphere around the training field and that really helps.
"Hard work on training ground is really paying off and everyone is really buying into the manager's ideas from day one.
"The work on the training pitch really sets the tone for the weekend. We need to keep the standards high.
"We won 3-0 last weekend but I think we let our standards drop slightly. We need to get those high standards back this weekend."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
