SACKED Partick Thistle defender Jordan McMillan is today set to be banned from football for two years for failing a drugs test.

The former Rangers player, speaking in The Sun, insisted he was innocent and that he stands by his claim that a drink was spiked with cocaine, something which has been repeatedly thrown out by the UK Anti-Doping.

McMillan was told to go by Thistle in February, which he feels bitter about, but he will continue to protest his case despite his career perhaps being brought to an end after today's verdict.

McMillan said: "I know I am looking at two years out of the game. It's so easy for your drink to become contaminated without your knowledge.

"I'm sitting here with a ban because of that. The only think I can say is that the guy in question owned up to it and was formally charged by the police."

Today's announcement will be made public on the UKAD's website.
