ELGIN City head a logjam at the top after beating Berwick Rangers 4-1 at Borough Briggs. With only three points separating the top seven in the table, Elgin find themselves in first spot on goal difference.

Berwick almost took the lead when Blair Henderson saw a header strike the post, but Connor McLaren marked his debut by giving the home side the lead. Ewan McNeil brought any celebrations to a halt with a stunning 30-yard equaliser. An own goal from Ross Drummond put Elgin back in front before Craig Gunn added a third shortly afterwards and then Mark Nicolson settled it with 12 minutes left.

Clyde beat Annan 4-2 at Broadwood to move joint top. Clyde led at half time through headers from Michael Bolochoweckyj and David Gormley inside the first 15 minutes, but Annan pulled a goal back before half time through Matt Flynn.

Scott Linton made it 3-1 from the spot and David Marsh scored the fourth with nine minutes left before a trialist headed a late consolation.

Queen’s Park had a fine 5-1 win over East Stirlingshire at Hampden. Goals from Ryan McGeever and Chris Duggan gave them a half-time lead and Paul Woods, David Galt and John Carter underlined their superiority. Reece Donaldson was sent off for Shire, who netted through Alistair Roy.

Arbroath recorded their first league win – an 80th-minute strike from Bobby Linn securing the win at East Fife.

A 69th-minute goal from Ross McMillan gave Stirling Albion a 1-0 win over Montrose. Stirling’s Ross McGeachie was sent off for denying Gary Fraser a goalscoring opportunity, but Chris Smith save
