NEW £4m Celtic signing Jozo Simunovic set an incredible record this week when he was booked for Croatia Under-21s after EIGHT seconds – the fastest yellow card in UEFA history.

The Hoops splashed out the bumper fee for the Dinamo Zagreb ace before the transfer deadline and he could make his debut in the top of the table clash at Aberdeen tomorrow.

And he was handed the captaincy for Croatia Under-21's Euro 2017 clash in Estonia in Tarlu.

But he managed to set the fastest booking in UEFA history when he was shown a yellow card by Albanian ref Bardhyl Pashaj for an elbow on Napoli and Estonia striker Frank Liivak.

However, despite that start, Simunovic managed to avoid seeing another caution and he helped his side to a comfortable 4-0 win.

The new Parkhead stopper is still three seconds behind the world record though.

Vinnie Jones was booked after just five seconds by ref David Elleray playing for Sheffield United in a 1992 match at Chelsea.
