RICHARD FOSTER has joined Kris Boyd in lashing out at Rangers chairman Dave King after securing a two-year deal with Ross County.
Boyd is unhappy with King because of the criticism he levelled at the players who left the Ibrox club in the summer and Foster feels exactly the same way.
The one-time Aberdeen captain was unimpressed by the way the new regime at Rangers handled the departure of those who were out of contract and believes King's remarks over individuals on their way out of the club were wholly unnecessary.
"I'm yet to have a phone call, a letter or any correspondence from the club," revealed Foster. "I think all the players that left are in the same boat.
"Personally, I don't think that's the way you do business.
"The chairman also came out and had a go at the players that left, although he's probably only seen us play a couple of times. I would make no comment on him as a businessman because I don't know him.
"It's just a shame that he felt he had to make a comment on us.
"There's still a lot of good players there and a lot of good players left," he said. "It never worked out the way anyone planned and I think sometimes you do need a fresh start and that may be the case there."
Foster was a target of criticism among Rangers supporters, becoming involved in spats inside grounds and admitting to at least one exchange taking place while out socially in Glasgow.
"It's never nice to hear that criticism when you're out and about, especially when you're with your family," he said. "At 3 o'clock on a Saturday it's fine, but when you're out with your family it's not nice to be part of.
"I hope that doesn't happen up here (at Ross County). If it does, I'll try and deal with it better than I have previously but I'm not good at that and I tend to bite back a bit too much."
Boyd made his views on King's behaviour clear after signing for Kilmarnock earlier this week.
"Dave King is entitled to his opinion, but he has a lot bigger issues to fix at Rangers than talking about players," stated Boyd.
"If I had one criticism of him, it would be that he should have gone and got a manager more quickly that could have dealt with everything, rather than him trying to deal with it all.
"There was so much in-fighting at Rangers. For instance, why did Dave King do that press conference when he was already due to announce a new manager the following week?
"It was like two press conferences for nothing. I think whoever is advising Dave King really needs to have a look at themselves, rather than just looking after their own interests."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
