Newtonmore are through to the semi-final of the Co-operative MacTavish Cup after a 2-1 extra-time victory over Fort William.

Paul MacArthur hit the winner three minutes before the end.

Earlier a Danny MacRae strike was cancelled out by the Fort's Duncan Rodger, who struck just three minutes from the end of regulation time. But the win came at a cost, with 'More's Glen MacKintosh red-carded and set to miss two games.

Holders Kingussie are also through but were made to work hard before overcoming Kilmallie 3-1 at Canal Parks. A Ronald Ross strike 10 minutes before the end sealed the tie.

Kingussie will play Lochaber for a place in the final after the Spean Bridge side thrashed Skye 4-0 in Portree. The Beauly-Glenurquhart tie was postponed because Beauly's pitch was waterlogged.

In the South area it was the quarter-final stage in the AJG Parcels Celtic Society Cup, and Inveraray are celebrating after knocking out holders Kyles Athletic 1-0 at the Winterton. Euan McMurdo scored on the hour.

Inveraray will face Bute for a place in the final after the islanders beat Oban Camanachd 3-1 in extra time, with Hector Whitelaw netting a hat-trick.

Taynuilt and Aberdour are also through after wins over Oban Celtic and Kilmory respectively. Neither side has ever featured in the final of the South area's most prestigious competition.

In the Orion Group Premiership match Lovat's teenage striker Greg Matheson hit a hat-trick as the Kiltarlity side beat second-placed Kinlochshiel 4-3 at Kirkton, moving Lovat into third place in the league.
