I WOULD like to join Andrew McCrae (Letters, November 29) in raising a glass to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their recent announcement.
My gesture, however, includes the less cynical hope that their engagement, and forthcoming wedding, will generate so much income in terms of tourism and the economy of the United Kingdom; which it surely will. Make no mistake: this is an event of worldwide interest.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
