RICHARD Anderson’s letter (November 28) can only help to show Scotland in a very poor light. How can a nation of only five million inhabitants not be policed by a single force?

If we look south of the Border there must surely be single police forces, the Metropolitan Police Force, for example and probably a few more, who have many more people to police and they seem to manage. Is Mr Anderson really saying that Scotland, a politically stable, safe and culturally diverse nation of five million is unable to be policed by a single force?
