A protocol for poppies?
IS there a recognised protocol or guideline for those of us who wish to wear poppies at this time of the year, particularly as to when they should start to be worn? They have been readily available in shops and garages for a few days and BBC TV presenters apparently have been told to wear them now, but I have a vague recollection of being told some time ago that they should not be worn until just before November 11.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
