I UNDERSTAND the new driving tests planned are to include being able to use a satnav. Surely the only people this need apply to would be taxis, delivery vans, ambulances and so on? Anyone going further afield would look up a map or computer to check out a route.

You recently had a letter from someone who lost their licence only by failing the compulsory motorway section of the test. The lady had never driven on a motorway for 20 years. I know of quite a few older people and many disabled people who deliberately avoid motorway driving.

Isn't it time a closer look was given to wider types of licences rather than a "one size fits all"?
