It is a hard one to get one's head around the fact that the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) have been put in place to protect Scottish waters (Crackdown of fish farm pesticides after Sunday Herald investigation, News, March 5). They are fully aware that salmon farm chemicals are polluting the west coast sea lochs – yet they continue to license the chemicals. Worse still, they propose to lift their biomass limits – which means more fish and even more chemicals.

Sepa is a Scottish Government agency and Scottish Government policy

is to double the income from aquaculture by 2030. So who cares about pollution?
