I NOTE that David Tennant is to appear in a film on the life of RD Laing, the psychiatrist who gained some notoriety in the 1960s (“Tennant’s other doctor role”, The Herald, February 27). I bet you that the media will pronounce his name as Lang and not Laing. Just as Menzies is now Menzizz and Buchanan as Bewkanan. Oh, the Scottish cringe, isn't it wonderful?

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
