THE Glasgow Americana festival has just ended and the gigs I attended at St Andrews in the Square, The Glad Cafe plus the CCA were a pleasure to be at.
The audiences, with a wide age range, were there to listen to the excellent music on offer and not chat during the songs, to have a few drinks without getting rowdy, and we had the chance to speak with the artistes once they had left the stage if we wished.
For me, this is what live music is all about.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
