The 2024 Olympic Games are just around the corner and Team GB athletes will be preparing to show spectators the skills they’ve worked hard at perfecting in the run up to the sporting event.
This year, the world’s biggest sporting event will take place in Paris, France with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for later this week.
More than 10,000 athletes from countries across the world will compete across 329 events in 32 sports and take centre stage throughout the 2024 Olympic Games.
Before that, many of them will be paraded with their teammates on boats along a 6km route of the Seine.

This forms part of a bold and original ceremony which will come to an end at the Trocadero against the majestic backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
How to watch the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony
If you’d like to see the athletes proudly represent their countries at the Opening Ceremony, you’ll need to tune into BBC One on Friday, July 26.
Clare Balding will begin the coverage at 5.45pm as she previews the next 16 days of sporting action in France.

Team GB's top 5 Olympic events
Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates present from the Opening Ceremony on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds with Eleanor Oldroyd and Alistair Bruce-Ball commentating on the action from 7pm on Friday.
Over the course of the Olympic Games, First Dates star Fred Sirieix will be joined for the BBC’s coverage by former gymnast Beth Tweddle, former cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, former track and field athlete Dame Denise Lewis, retired heptathlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, four-time US gold medallist Michael Johnson and former swimmer Rebecca Adlington.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Sirieix, 52, said he will join the BBC’s presenting team at the games but he won’t be in the commentary box while his 19-year-old daughter Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix’s events.
Spendolini-Sirieix has been selected to represent Team GB in the diving team.

The Frenchman said: “I’m not officially British, but I feel British.
“I will be supporting Team GB. Obviously, I’m a bit biased, because my daughter is part of Team GB, and I’ve met many of the athletes.
“But I’m also proud to go back to my home country and showcase France to the Brits.
“I hope the French put a Games on that are just as good as the Brits did in 2012. I was in the stadium during the opening ceremony, and I felt so proud.”
