Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has been announced as part of the cast for Harlan Coben’s new thriller series that’s coming to Netflix.
Keegan will be joined by Adeel Akhtar, Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley in the new eight-part thriller.
While Michelle Keegan is known for her role in the ITV soap, she’s also starred in Our Girl, Brassic and more.
Fool Me Once is about Maya Stern, played by Michelle Keegan, who must come to terms with losing her husband Joe, played by Richard Armitage, who was brutally murdered.
Despite believing that her husband is dead, she spots him in her house on a nanny cam that she installs to keep an eye on her young daughter.
Fool Me Once announced as new Netflix show
The series will be the eighth on-screen adaptation from bestselling author Harlan Coben who has worked with local screenwriters around the world to bring his books to life on screen, in four languages so far.
Harlan Coben said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to once again be collaborating with my uber-talented partners Danny, Nicola and Richard. ‘Fool Me Once’ will be our fourth Netflix series [following ‘Safe,’ ‘The Stranger’ and ‘Stay Close’] together, and man, it never gets old!
“‘Fool Me Once’ is a pulse-pounder -- a shocking story of how secrets and deceit have the power to bring people together while simultaneously tearing them apart. I can’t wait to see how this dream cast brings these characters to life.”
Executive Producers for Quay Street Productions, Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee: “Harlan is a master of twists and turns that are impossible to predict, which is what makes adapting his books for television impossible to resist! ‘Fool Me Once’ is no different, we’re incredibly excited to bring the story to life with an all-star cast.”

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
