More than 2600 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
New data has revealed a further 2666 infections were identified in the Scottish Government's most recent daily figures with a positivity rate of 10%.
Two further deaths of people who previously tested positive for Covid-19 have also been reported.
This brings the total under the daily measure - of people who died within 28 days of first testing positive - to 8930.
As of midnight last night, 829 people were in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 and 45 people were in intensive care.
And as of 8.30am today, 4,286,044 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,877,849 have received their second dose.
Earlier today, we revealed this week's Covid hotspots in Scotland.
Scotland had 16,898 positive cases between October 7 and October 13, which was 309.1 cases per 100,000 population and a test positivity rate of 8.5%.
Of the places with a rate higher than 500 cases per 100,000 population, 30 were from Fife, 15 were from Aberdeenshire and the rest were spread out across Scotland.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
