The second day of filming for the latest instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise is underway in Glasgow, which has been transformed into New York for a key scene.

Pictures from the set feature the Apollo 11 Ticker Tape parade, welcoming astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins back from their mission in 1969 Manhattan.

The scene is being shot on St Vincent Street in Glasgow city centre.

The parade took place on August 13, 1969, to celebrate the moon landing three weeks earlier on July 20.

New York and the nation had to wait until the astronauts emerged from an isolation ward at the Lunar Receiving Laboratory in Houston before celebrating their triumph.

A video posted on Twitter shows the ticker-tape parade scene from the perfect angle.

Crowds of fans have gathered to watch the filming and catch a glimpse of stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Boyd Holbrook, who were spot on the set on Wednesday.
