A road closure is in place as firefighters tackle a building fire in Wishaw.
Fire crews were alerted to reports of a building on fire in the town's Stewarton Street at around 2:30pm on Wednesday.
Online reports suggest that the fire started in Alfie's chip shop.
Stewarton Street is currently closed between East Academy Street and Graham Street due to the blaze.
Police Scotland said nearby buildings have also been evacuated as a precaution.

Buses on Service 41 & 251 have been diverted, with police urging drivers to use alternative routes.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.27pm on Wednesday, December 4 to reports of a building on fire at Stewarton Street, Wishaw.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances to the scene where firefighters are working to extinguish a fire affecting a building.
“One casualty is in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews are still in attendance.”
