A Glasgow hotel has launched a £30,000 Hogmanay party to let customers bring in the New Year in style with an exclusive whisky tasting alongside renowned expert Charles Maclean.

AC Hotel Glasgow is offering the party and it includes a live band, ceilidh dancing and lessons, sword dancing and much more but it will cost you a lot of money.

It can be split between up to 31 people and guests will arrive in style. It will start with them being picked up along the Clyde for a scenic boat ride before being piped into the hotel.

The party will then take place in the luxurious Liberty Suite, described by the hotel as ‘Glasgow’s best hotel room’, with the package also including an over night stay.

A full bar tended by the cocktail-experts at the hotel’s sister restaurant Hazel will be on hand to offer a customised tipple, as well as a £10,000 whisky toast and a tasting with Charles Maclean MBE.

Craig Munro, manager at AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow said: “I’m old enough to remember when George Square Hogmanay bashes were the talk of the town: with Travis and Paolo Nutini performing. It’s time we brought a bit of that glitz and glamour back to the city – and we hope the offering of Scotland’s most expensive, and most glamorous, party might do just that.

“Our Liberty Suite is a breathtaking space that’s often enjoyed by celebrities. We believe it’s Glasgow's best hotel room –  the perfect setting for Glasgow’s best Hogmanay party.

“We hear a lot about money can’t buy packages, but this is one money can buy.”

The 245-room AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow opened in November 2023, and has since recorded more than 59,000 room nights, 85,000 guests – with profits more than 5% ahead of forecasts. Occupancy rates have consistently exceeded 85% – well ahead of industry averages, with rocketing tourist numbers and major events in Scotland including Taylor Swift’s concerts in Edinburgh also contributing.
