An Inverness investment group has bolstered its electrical and construction portfolio with the acquisition of two Highland contractors.

GEG Capital has snapped up Calder Electrical, an electrical contractor, and Scotbuild, a multi-trades construction company in what it declared was an “exciting step”. The two firms will continue to operate under their established brands, with all 55 staff retained.

GEG Capital said it will provide support and resources to drive and innovation at the businesses, which will be led by Daniel Cormack, who has been appointed managing director of Calder Electrical and Scotbuild. Mr Cormack has held various roles within the group over the last 15 years, and graduated from the GEG Capital Emerging Leaders Programme.

He said: “I am honoured to take on this role and lead Calder Electrical and Scotbuild during such an exciting time for both companies. With the support of GEG Capital, we are well-positioned to build on our strong foundations, drive growth, and continue delivering high-quality services to our clients across the Highlands and beyond. I look forward to working with the talented teams at both companies to achieve our shared goals and capitalise on new opportunities.”
