Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the M8.

The crash happened around 12.55am on Tuesday, November 26, on the westbound carriageway near junction 7 at Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.

It involved an HGV and a black Corsa.

The 21-year-old driver of the Corsa was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The 59-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.

The road re-opened around 6.45am.

Sergeant Elaine Scott of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation into this serious crash continues and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dash cam footage, to please get in touch.

“The road was closed for around six hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.

“Information can be passed to Police Scotland by calling 101, and quoting reference 0116 of 26 November, 2024.”
