A popular restaurant and café bar in Prestwick is to be refurbished before the busy Christmas period kicks in.

Lido, which is located on the Ayrshire town’s Main Street, will be restyled to bring it in line with sister its restaurant in Troon, with new windows installed throughout the premises.

The venue, part of the Buzzworks stable, is closed until Thursday (November 21) to allow the work to take place, with bookings set to re-open on Friday.

Leith Andrews, who is leading the refurbishment project, said: “We have lots of exciting plans for Lido Prestwick, including introducing a brand-new ‘to go’ takeaway offering which will allow people to order their favourite dishes online before popping into the venue to collect them.

“But guests need not worry, as we will still be offering our much-loved all-day Mediterranean vibe, delicious dishes and, of course, a warm welcome from our friendly team. Some things are just too good to change!”
