A dress created by a Scottish fashion label is still selling 100 dresses per week almost a year on from Taylor Swift wearing it.

The singer, who performed three sell-out shows in Edinburgh in the summer, wore a £58 dress from Little Lies to an A-list night out in New York in January this year.

Jade Robertson founded Little Lies and was left shocked when she saw the pictures of Taylor Swift on a night out in Manhattan wearing the Sweet Jane Crushed mini dress that was created at their HQ in Perthshire.

The small initial run of the olive-coloured dress had sold out within minutes and thousands of fans around the world pre-ordered the next run of it.

The 35-year-old started the business in her bedroom in 2015 and said her team are still being bombarded with messages every day to ask when the dress will be back in their size, because it continues to sell out within hours every time it is restocked.

She said: "The demand has been crazy - every time we get more back in they sell out.

"That's the power of Taylor Swift's style, quite understandably everyone wants to get that look and because this one is so accessible and affordable fans can't get enough of it.

"We've brought it out in new colours - Merlot and Black - that have also been wildly popular.

"But the original olive green - as seen on Taylor herself - is still the number one."

More than 5,000 dresses have been sold to customers as far afield as Argentina, Kuwait and Chile with more than 100 per week being shipped globally on average.

The singer was spotted wearing the Scottish brand’s clothes a second time after she posted a picture of her wearing another of their items on her Instagram account, which again left the Little Lies team in shock.

Jade added: "After she was seen in the first dress we very quickly tracked down her order on our system.

"The crazy thing is that very night that she had worn it there was a second order sent to her address, containing the dress she was later pictured in on Instagram!

"We love to think that she's gone back after a great night out with Blake and Zoe, and loved the dress so much that she just had to shop for more.

"But I guess we'll never know how it played out for sure."
