“Douglas is an outstanding commercial litigator who brings the right blend of legal expertise, commitment to client service and collegiate attitude that we look for in all our people. He’s an excellent addition to our partner ranks, and we are pleased to welcome him to Burness Paull.”

Burness Paull said Mr Blyth “brings a broad range of sector experience and particular expertise in the areas of insolvency, corporate and shareholder disputes, public procurement and judicial review”.

It added: “He is recognised in the field of commercial litigation in Scotland by both the Chambers and Legal 500 legal directories.”

The firm noted that, as a solicitor advocate, Mr Blyth has rights of audience in Scotland’s higher courts.

Joanna Fulton, head of dispute resolution at Burness Paull, said: “We continue to see strong demand for advice across the full spectrum of commercial disputes, including cyber and data breaches, product liability, insurance and professional negligence claims, marine incidents, and insolvency.
