The family of a man killed in a hit-and-run incident have thanked people who came to his aid.
James Craig, 70, from Hamilton, died when he was struck by a black Mercedes A-type on Sunday, 27 October.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said that people in a nearby pub had tried to help Mr Craig, with one young man performing CPR while they waited for emergency services to arrive.
The car has been traced by police and is now undergoing forensic testing.
Officers say they are following a positive line of enquiry but would again ask anyone who may have information about the crash, which happened near the town's Quarry Street, to come forward.
In a statement, Mr Craig’s family said: "We have read all the heartfelt messages about James and we’re grateful for the warmth and kindness shared by all who knew him.
“We can’t convey enough how much comfort reading them has brought to us all, thank you so much.
“We would also like to thank Police Scotland for their support and ongoing efforts throughout this time.”
They added: “We now know a young man stopped to help our Dad and performed CPR. We also want to thank staff from a nearby pub who were also there. We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to you.
"Though this experience must have been unimaginably horrific and traumatic, it means so much to know that Dad wasn’t alone.
"Thank you for your kindness and courage.”

Officers are again appealing for anyone with information, or who may have seen the black Mercedes A class car in the area, to get in touch.
Sergeant John Houston said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of James at this extremely difficult time.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing and we are following a positive line of enquiry.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have seen a black Mercedes A Class, and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0171 of 27 October 2024.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
