One of Aberdeen's "best-known" companies has been passed on to a new generation of leaders.
Four members of the Bon Accord Glass team have staged a management buyout of the firm.
Michelle Kinghorn, Danielle McAnespie, Ian McDonald, and Neil Wilson have taken over the business from Colin Kinghorn and Martin Allan, who between them have 75 years of combined experience at the firm.
The deal, which comes as Bon Accord Glass celebrates its 50th year in business, follows an MBO Mr Kinghorn and Martin Allan had themselves sealed to take over the company in 2008.
Bon Accord specialises in home improvements in the north-east of the country, supplying windows and doors, kitchens, conservatory roof replacements, and home improvement services.

And the firm, which was established by Aberdeen businessman Bryan Keith in 1974, declared it would be “business as usual” following the latest MBO.
Mr Kinghorn, who has 40 years of service at Bon Accord Glass, said: “This is a proud moment for me personally and for the business as a whole. I am very confident that the new management team of my daughter, Michelle, and her talented colleagues will continue to uphold the reputation for quality and customer care that Bon Accord Glass is known for. I look forward to supporting them as they take the business forward into the next 50 years."
Mr Allan, who himself has been with the company for 35 years, passes the baton of the business to a new management team which includes his daughter Danielle. He said: “It has been a privilege to work with such dedicated staff and loyal customers. The four new directors all have experience across key areas of the business, and this will ensure continuity for our staff and our customers. I’m excited for the future and have every confidence that the new team will continue the Bon Accord Glass success story.”
Neil Wilson, speaking on behalf of the new directors, noted: “We are honoured to have the opportunity to lead Bon Accord Glass into the future. Our goal is to bring new ideas while continuing the traditions of quality, reliability and excellent service that our customers have come to expect. We are fortunate to still have Colin and Martin’s continued guidance as we build on the firm’s impressive legacy."
The company said Mr Kinghorn and Mr Allan will remain "actively involved" as advisors further to the deal, providing "continuity" and "support" for the new management team while they imprint their own vision on the business. Based on Aberdeen's Riverside Drive, where it has offices and showrooms, the firm has a team of 47.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
