Simple Minds have been announced as a headline act for next year’s Summer Sessions gigs in Glasgow.

The Scottish rock band will perform a one-off show in their hometown in June next year, and they’ll be supported by fellow Scottish acts KT Tunstall and Hamish Hawk.

The Jim Kerr-fronted band have just finished a global tour which saw them perform in Glasgow twice in March as well as venues in cities including Adelaide, Melbourne, Paris and Milan.

Now they’ll be back in their home city on Friday, June 27 next year to perform at Bellahouston Park with tickets to go on sale on Wednesday through pre-sale before opening up to everyone on Friday November 8.

American synth-pop group Future Islands will also perform alongside them at the gig.
