Tributes have been paid to a ‘loving mother’ who was killed following a fatal crash in Bellshill on Friday night.

Clare Richie, who was from Bellshill, died after an incident involving a silver Ford Fiesta at around 9.30pm on Friday, November in the Crossgates area of the town.

Emergency services attended but the 41-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later with police now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Her family have now paid tribute to her in a statement as they said: “Clare was a loving mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. The tragedy that happened on Friday has left us all devastated.

"She will be dearly missed, but we all promise to make her proud and keep her memory alive”

Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts remain with Clare’s family.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. We are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. If you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”
