The distillery declared the release is “a symbol of resilience, tradition, and a passionate dedication to Scottish whisky-making”.

The distillery noted the limited-edition spirit has been matured in a Barrique first-fill Oloroso sherry cask.

Declaring “Stirling 900 boasts a unique tasting experience”, it said: “On the nose, one finds bright notes of orange peel and a hint of cut grass, opening up to a rich and complex palate of malt loaf, with layers of fruity raisins and almonds. The finish lingers, with spiced fruits that slowly give way to a gentle, dried malt - an invitation to savour Stirling’s history with every sip.”

The distillery added: "Priced at £90, this commemorative release is set to be a sought-after collector’s item and a quintessential expression of Stirling’s historical and cultural heritage."

It observed: "The bottle features a unique label created by Scottish artist Ritchie Collins, that incorporates a coat of arms found in Stirling Castle, adding a touch of Stirling’s visual history to this limited-run whisky."
