The Glasgow Greens have revealed their candidate for the Partick East/Kelvindale by-election.
Heloise Le Moal, originally from France, will be contesting the seat for the Scottish Greens on December 5.
The Glasgow Green Party is standing candidates in all four wards going to the polls.
The party say they are looking to build on their record results in July’s general election and their first by-election win in Hillhead earlier this year.
Ms Le Moal moved to Partick in 2022 after living in Inverness for six years and has been a Green member since 2016.
She said: "I am immensely honoured to have been selected to represent my party, and if elected, I will work tirelessly on behalf of the people of Partick East/Kelvindale.
"Partick is my home and I know full well its strength of character and rich diversity, as well as the challenges people face - from recycling and litter, to sky-high rent and soaring bills, to the accessibility and safety of our streets to flooding.
"For too long men in suits have been allowed to dominate the political landscape.
"As a young woman, I also want to add my input and support to the incredible work the Glasgow’s Green councillors have been doing to make the city more welcoming and inclusive.
"The Greens are the only alternative choice to protect the people and the planet."
Joining Ms Le Moal will be candidates in three other by-elections across the city on November 21.
Former co-chair of the Scottish Greens, Ellie Gomersall, is running in Maryhill.
A former president of NUS Scotland, The party says Ellie now works in the education sector alongside writing for national newspapers and is a 'leading' voice for Green politics across Scotland.
East End native Hayley McDonald will represent the Glasgow Greens in the North East ward.
Having attended St. Andrew's Secondary, Hayley is rooted in Glasgow’s working-class communities - something which drives her work to reform the fashion industry according to the party.
Chris Lavelle is the party’s final candidate in this autumn’s by-elections, running in Drumchapel/Anniesland.
Born in Drumchapel, raised in Temple, and now living in Anniesland, Chris is a 'local champion' who has seen first-hand the damage of cuts on his local community says the party.
Ellie Gomersall, Glasgow Greens candidate for Maryhill and branch campaign manager, said: "I’m delighted to be standing alongside three other fantastic Green candidates for these upcoming by-elections.
"Our 11 Green councillors across Glasgow have been fighting tirelessly for a fairer, greener Glasgow since elected and more Green councillors across the city would make a huge impact to improve our city.
"With the climate emergency continuing to worsen with devastating consequences around the world, there has rarely been a time where Green voices have been more urgently needed."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
