A man and a woman have been charged by police after a 10-year-old girl was attacked by a dog in Glasgow on Wednesday afternoon.

The child was taken to hospital after being attacked by the animal on Maukinfauld Road, Parkhead, in the east end of the city at around 3pm.

A 52-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the incident and the dog was euthanised.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Wednesday, October 30, we received a report of a dog having attacked a 10-year-old girl on Maukinfauld Road, Glasgow.

“She was taken to hospital and released after treatment.

“A 52-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman have been charged in connection with this incident. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

“The dog was euthanised following this incident.”
