Police are appealing for information following a serious crash on Islay.
Around 8.25am on Tuesday, officers were called to a report of a crash involving a Volkswagan Transporter van and a BMW GS motorbike on the A846 south of Bowmore.
Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where his condition is described as critical.
The 68-year-old male driver was taken to Bowmore Hospital for treatment and later released.

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for enquiries to be carried out.
Sergeant Bob Mackie said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or who witnessed the crash or the vehicles involved to get in touch.”
