Scottish chef Nick Nairn has announced a lineup of winter events taking place at his restaurant and cook school in Port of Menteith.
Launching in November, the seasonal programme includes long table feasts, an intimate chef’s table experience with Nairn and executive chef Andy Turnball, and the return of a popular Christmas Market.
The long table feasts, taking place throughout November, are designed to celebrate international cuisine from some of the chef’s favourite countries.
Hosted at the cook school, guests will be welcomed with drinks and canapes as they watch the team prepare a three-course meal.
Dishes range from Japanese-inspired chicken yakitori and okonomiyaki to an Indian dinner of chicken tikka skewers and smoked pork vindaloo and a celebration of Mexican fare with king prawn tacos and ‘proper’ beef chilli.

For those looking to host intimate gatherings, such as work Christmas parties or festive celebrations with family and friends, a Chef’s Table experience is available to book at the cook school.
This experience offers a five-course tasting menu for just eight participants and will be available to book for November 15 and 16.
The Chef’s Table menu will feature “the finest festive ingredients” with highlights including roast turbot and spiced venison loin.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and canapes before each dish is personally introduced and explained by the chefs.
The Christmas weekend at Port of Menteith is this year set for Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8, offering visitors the chance to attend cooking demonstrations, shop for Christmas gifts at Home by Julia Nairn, or the chance purchase the gift of a Nick Nairn Cook School class.
Visitors are also invited to ‘simply relax and soak in the atmosphere’ while enjoying a festive lunch in the restaurant.
On New Year’s Eve, a Hogmanay celebration will take place at the venue, featuring a four-course meal, live music, and dancing under the stars in a stretch tent set in the garden.
All events are available to book online now.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
