A rapist who targeted young girls he was babysitting has been jailed for six years at the High Court in Glasgow.

Ian Dunlop was just 12-year-old when he began abusing girls he was babysitting over a five-year period when asked to look after them.

The 61-year-old was found guilty of multiple historic sexual offence charges in May this year following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow, having targeted his victims in the Ayrshire area.

The girls were aged between five and eight when the abuse began and it continued over the course of five years.

His sentence of six years imprisonment will also see his name added to the sex offenders register indefinitely while he’s also been handed non-harassment orders, banning him from contacting the victims indefinitely.
