A Scottish loudspeaker manufacturer has opened a new factory amid "substantial investment".

The "significant milestone" comes as the award-winning company "purchased the new site outright".

Fyne Audio, said it is "proud to announce the opening of its new factory in Glasgow, a significant milestone that doubles the company’s UK production capacity".

The firm said it has "continued to grow its market presence, offering hand-crafted, high-quality loudspeakers that music enthusiasts and audiophiles worldwide have embraced" since it was founded in 2017.

"This new facility strengthens the company’s commitment to manufacturing in the UK, bringing more employment opportunities to the Glasgow area and installing the foundation for the brand’s long-term success," it said.

"The substantial investment in this new facility is a testament to Fyne Audio’s unwavering commitment to building world-class loudspeakers in Scotland, purchasing the new site outright as a long-term commitment to the area," the company said.

The move brings many of Fyne’s loudspeaker production processes under one roof, from design and engineering to assembly and testing, allowing for greater efficiency and control over quality.

The increased capacity will enable us to produce considerably more units from premium UK-made loudspeaker series, providing better service to our 45 distributors worldwide, as well as ensuring quicker delivery times for our customers."

Fyne Audio has developed its premium loudspeaker ranges around its innovative point-source IsoFlare driver technology and loudspeakers built in Scotland.

With several technical patents in audio engineering, including its BassTrax porting system for unrivalled bass reproduction, the brand’s products have received glowing audio press reviews around the world. Fyne Audio now exports loudspeakers around the globe, across Europe and from the US to Asia.

Expansion plans

Fyne Audio said its new facility in the Bellshill area has been designed with future expansion in mind, including room for additional manufacturing capacity and office space. The company also has plans to install 400 solar panels on the factory roof, further enhancing its sustainability efforts by generating enough electricity to power the entire operation and beyond. Once completed, this initiative will position Fyne Audio as a leader in environmentally friendly manufacturing in the hi-fi industry.

The new factory includes a bespoke demonstration facility where dealers and visitors can experience Fyne Audio’s premium loudspeakers in action. The facility also houses Fyne’s engineering labs, an in-house Deep Cryogenic Treatment chamber, and expanded workstations, allowing the company to streamline production and improve operational efficiency.

"By bringing everything under one roof in the UK, we’re improving not only efficiency but also the overall quality and control of the entire production process," added Mr Sosna.
