A village store in the popular Argyll & Bute tourist spot of Tighnabruaich has been put up for sale.

Kyles Premier Convenience Store, which has been run by Rajinder and Anita Kumar since 2014, is on the market at £350,000 for the freehold.

The business is based in a village on the Cowal Peninsula on the western arm of the Kyles of Bute, with property agent Christie & Co noting that it is convenient for locals and commuter trade.

It occupies a detached building with business premises on the ground floor, selling a selection of convenience goods, alcohol, tobacco and also has a large ice cream freezer. The property also includes a three bedroom owners’ flat with a large garden area.

Liam Bain, business agent at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire a successful freehold convenience store with spacious owners’ accommodation. There is potential for a new owner to increase trade with the option of extending the opening hours.”
