A man is due to appear in court today after police seized a significant amount of illegal drugs from his car yesterday.

Police in Lanarkshire seized drugs worth an estimated street value of £350,000 on Tuesday 8 October.

The officers seized the drugs after stopping a car on the M73 northbound carriageway, near Gartcosh at around 10:30am.

A search of the vehicle resulted in Class A drugs being discovered, which then lead to the 26-year-old driver of the vehicle to be arrested and charged.

He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today.
