Police in Scotland are appealing for information after a crash that killed a man and left two others in hospital.

The fatal collision happened on Monday 23 September at around 9:40am on the A7 near Boleside and Galashiels.

The road was closed for several hours, but re-opened around 1pm the same day.

It involved a white Range Rover Evoque, a silver Vauxhall Insignia and a yellow Iveco Daily van.

Emergency services attended, and the driver and passenger of the Vauxhall Insignia, a 74-year-old man and 72-year-old woman, and the driver of the Range Rover, a 41-year-old woman, were taken to hospital for treatment.

However, the man died in hospital on Monday 7 October.

Now police are issuing an appeal for anyone who may have been driving near the same area at the same time to get in touch.

They are looking for further information to establish the circumstances of the crash, and view any unseen CCTV or dash cam footage.

Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you think you can help.

“I would also appeal for anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage that could assist to contact us.”

The two women who were involved in the crash have since been released from hospital.
