A special auction of more than 100 lots of whisky and related items will go under the hammer tomorrow to raise funds for Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital Charity.

The ‘Special Wee Dram’ auction at McTear’s on October 9 will see rare whisky donated by distilleries including Bunnahabhain, Springbank, Nc’nean, LAGG, Bowmore, Balvenie, Ardbeg and Glenfiddich amongst others.

It will sit alongside whisky artwork and other memorabilia being sold in aid of the charity.

Some of the highlights of the sale include a 25-year-old bottle of Balvenie Marriages, which could go for as much as £500 while a 1998 Glenfiddich Distillery Exclusive is estimated between £300 and £500.

Commenting on the auction, Steve McGill, the driving force behind the initiative, said: "Having had great support from the art world over previous years I decided this year to give the liquid artists of Scotland an opportunity to show what they could do to support this amazing charity.

“The response has been great and I'd like to thank everyone who has donated something and the team at McTear’s for their incredible support again.”

As well as the whisky itself, there is also artwork going under the hammer and renowned artists The Connor Brothers have got behind the charity drive with a rare hand coloured studio proof of the print ‘My Relationship with Whiskey’ estimated to fetch between £1,400 and £1,900.
