Trains running to and from one of Scotland’s busiest stations have been hit with delays and cancellations due to a signaling fault.

Scotrail said that “disruption is expected” to services arriving and leaving Glasgow Central Station following the breakdown.

Commuters were warned that problems are expected to persist until 2:30pm, though the fault has now been resolved.

The disruption came as ScotRail’s full timetable was reintroduced from next week, after drivers accepted the latest pay deal.

The nationalised service has been running a temporary timetable since July after drivers refused to work overtime or rest days, as is their contractual right, amid the pay dispute.
