Police have launched an investigation after a car was set on fire in the Barlanark area of Glasgow in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around 5am on Sunday, October 6 in Garvel Crecent when a black Mercedes A class was deliberately set on fire.

Officers are now appealing for information into the incident, which has been described as a ‘reckless act’ but they did confirm that nobody was injured.

They are looking for any private CCTV or dash-cam footage to be made available to them as they look to find out what happened.

Detective Constable Gill Burns said: “Thankfully, no one was injured from this reckless act, however the car sustained significant damage.

“We are appealing to anyone with any information regarding this incident or who may have possibly witnessed anything suspicious around this time, to please contact police.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to come forward.”
