An Argyll hotel has been named Tourism and Hospitality Employer of the Year 2024 at the Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards.
The success of the Pierhouse Hotel & Seafood Restaurant at Port Appin was announced at an awards ceremony and gala dinner at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, as which the Highlands & Islands regional winners were unveiled.
The regional winners now proceed to the Scottish Thistle Awards' national final in November to compete with the best of the rest of the country.

The hotel, on the shores of Loch Linnhe with views of islands of Lismore and Mull, noted that the annual awards “cover all the regions of the Highlands and Islands; from Argyll in the west, to Moray in the east, and Orkney and Shetland in the north”.
The Pierhouse is part of The Wee Hotel Company, which includes the world-renowned Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye.
The Tourism & Hospitality Employer of the Year category celebrates employers who have demonstrated a real commitment to the welfare of their employees, providing a supportive and inspiring work environment, The Pierhouse noted.

Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards chairman Calum Ross said: “Our judging teams reported that the quality of entry was higher than ever this year.”
The Pierhouse noted "The Pierhouse restaurant is led by head chef Michael Leathley. The renowned seafood restaurant has three silver stars, two AA rosettes and is one of only three Argyll restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2024."
