A “charming” hotel on the Isle of Skye which boasts an “outstanding reputation and client base” has been put up for sale.

Offers over £650,000 are being sought for the heritable interest of Atholl House, located in the village of Dunvegan known for its “breathtaking” landscape, and close to the eponymous castle.

The guest house, which selling agent Graham + Sibbald says offers an ideal base for tourists to explore Skye, includes eight en-suite bedrooms and exclusive-use cabin, as well as a “bright, spacious restaurant”. It also features a south-west facing seating area which is said to be especially popular with guests, and a licensed lounge with wood-burner for colder evenings.

Graham + Sibbald notes that the hotel’s prime location ensures year-round demand.

It describes the interior design as a blend of traditional features with modern conveniences, with the agent adding that the current owners have invested substantially in the property and business, making it “highly attractive to potential buyers”.

The owners are selling the business to retire. Co-owner Jennie Chapman said: “Atholl House is a successful business with heart and soul and guests always tell us how welcome and at home they feel. We host many returning guests and also love welcoming locals and non- residents for drinks and meals.”

Peter Seymour, director with the hotel and leisure team at Graham + Sibbald, noted: “We are delighted to be marketing Atholl House on Skye. This fantastic guest house is well presented, benefitting from an already outstanding reputation and client base. The business would suit either a hands-on operator or a landlord who can take the established business and develop it further.”
