A Scottish law firm has appointed a new partner, among 11 promotions.

Lindsays noted that Kirsty Preston’s appointment is her “second promotion in a year - having made the step up to senior associate just 12 months ago”.

It noted that its new partner had “climbed the ranks since joining Lindsays as a senior solicitor in 2018. Ms Preston is a private client lawyer, advising people in personal legal affairs including wills, powers of attorney and inheritance tax, the firm noted.

Mhairi Cage has been promoted to director in the private client team in Perth. She was previously a senior associate.

Kerry Gallagher has been appointed as a director in the Edinburgh-based commercial property department. She has been with Lindsays for 11 years and was previously a senior associate.

Darren Lightfoot has become a commercial property director in Edinburgh. He joined Lindsays as a solicitor in 2017 and was most recently a senior associate.

Stephen O’Hare has been promoted to senior associate in the private client team in Perth. He was previously an associate.

Lewis Crofts steps up from associate to senior associate in the Edinburgh-based rural team.

Eilidh Robertson also becomes a senior associate in the rural team in Edinburgh. She was also previously an associate.

Lauren McGhie has been appointed as a private client associate, based in Glasgow. The firm noted this is her third promotion since joining Lindsays as a solicitor in January last year.

Caitlin Connolly has stepped up from senior solicitor to associate in the Edinburgh private client team. She started at Lindsays as a trainee in 2018.

Lesley McKinlay also becomes a private client associate in Edinburgh, having been a senior solicitor with the firm for five years.

Philippa Abernethy has been promoted from senior solicitor to associate in the family team, working out of the Glasgow offices. She also first worked with the firm as a trainee, Lindsays noted.
