A new gothic horror drama series starring a prolific Hollywood actor is set to begin filming in Glasgow.

The Talamasca will focus on a centuries-old secretive society that tracks and containing the witches, vampires, werewolves and other entities.

Produced by AMC Studios (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead), the show is part of the network’s Anne Rice franchise, the show is part of the network’s Anne Rice franchise, which also includes Interview With The Vampire and Mayfair Witches.

Filming is scheduled to take place in both Glasgow and Manchester between October and February next year.

The cast for the show includes Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern, Nicholas Denton (Glitch, Dangerous Liaisons) and William Fichtner, who is known for his roles in Heat, Armageddon, The Dark Knight and Black Hawk Down. 

The Talamasca is executive produced by Oscar-nominated John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (The Right Stuff, Halt and Catch Fire).

It is expected to air sometime in 2025.

The Herald understands that filming will begin next week in Glasgow in locations such as Blythswood, The Necropolis, Hillhead and Trongate.
