Scotsman Hospitality, which operates a total of 50 hotels, restaurants, cinemas and bars, has highlighted its move into the student accommodation market in St Andrews.

It has launched “SPACE”, declaring that, in keeping with its “reputation for the acquisition and regeneration of listed buildings”, it has converted the former Kilrymont high school into a “state-of-the-art collection” of self-contained studios, plus one, three and four bedroom apartments.

Scotsman Hospitality declared: “Many of the apartments and studios have enhanced features such as terrace gardens and town and sea views, and all have been fitted out to an exacting standard by the group.

The first phase of the development launched last month, Scotsman Hospitality noted, with SPACE welcoming its first residents from more than 20 countries, who are undertaking a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Bookings will soon open for the 2025/26 academic year,  Scotsman Hospitality noted, flagging plans for open days at the site, "designed to give potential residents a full picture of the many facilities on offer".
