A historic pub in a picturesque location has been brought to market.

The pub and bistro is “situated in an idyllic setting that perfectly captures the charm of Scottish hospitality”.

Graham + Sibbald is marketing, The Strone Inn, Strone, Dunoon, which dates from 1852 and is described as “a picturesque village pub boasting stunning views over the bay”.

The agent said: “On the ground floor, the inn features a pub bistro that has been tastefully modernised, combining period features with modern design to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.”

Graham + Sibbald also said: “This sale offers a unique lifestyle opportunity, with development potential in the three-bedroom flat located above the pub. The inn has preserved its traditional origins while thoughtfully expanding over the years, providing a spacious bistro dining area alongside its classic pub setting. The pub has become the heart of the community, offering a friendly atmosphere for patrons of all ages.”

Martin Sutherland, licensed trade agent at Graham + Sibbald, said: “The availability of The Strone Inn presents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-known business in a truly beautiful location. The property provides an excellent chance for a new owner to take over an established lifestyle business in turnkey condition.”

A co-owner of the Strone Inn said: “The Strone Inn has been at the heart of the Shore community since 1852 trading initially as The Argyle Hotel and more recently as the thriving village inn that exists today.

“We have owned it for the past 10 years but we feel it is time to hand over the reins. Whoever buys it will inherit a pub much loved by the whole community which, while it trades well, has huge potential for the right people to come in and expand the current offering.”

Graham + Sibbald is inviting “offers in the region of £275,000 for the freehold interest”.
